BURSARY FUND
Purpose To encourage children of members of the QCAA (Toronto) to pursue postsecondary studies at university and college/cgep with the ultimate objective of obtaining a first degree/diploma/certificate.

Conditions Candidates must be children of members in good standing of the Association. They must be graduating from their last year of high school (and/or CEGEP in Quebec) with a 75% average in their final and next-to-final year courses. They must have demonstrated some involvement in any of the following areas: community leadership, extra-curricular activities, special projects, volunteer service, outside interests or hobbies, career and educational objectives. Candidates must be entering the first year of a full-time degree/diploma program. The college/certificate program must be of a minimum one year duration. Students must begin their postsecondary studies within the year they graduate from high school.
Program Administration The Bursary Fund is administered by the Queen's College of Guyana Alumni Association (Toronto) Inc. and a selection is made by a committee appointed by the Executive of the Association, who base their decision on the academic excellence of the student, the level of motivation and maturity, community involvement and extracurricular activities. The Executive of the Association does not participate in the selection process.
Eligible Institutions Any Canadian degree-granting institution as well as Canadian community colleges.
Payment of Award Upon receipt of registration at the qualifying institution, the QCAA will forward the cheque directly to the recipients.
