There is no sound
    like the sound
        of bat hittting ball
            Crunch! and the red rocket
speeds its way to the boundary.
                    Cricket, lovely cricket conjures
up the image of a clear blue sky
as blue as a lady’s eye.
                                Puffy white clouds and sunshine
                                    hot like fire.
                                        Figures dressed in white
                                        scurry in the distance,
                                    batsmen, padded and protected
glide to the crease, gloved and ready
                            like gladiators going into battle.
The fast bowler pacing to his mark
                    gallops gracefully to the wicket,
the ball roaring past the batsman with a sound
            like thunder.
Fielders raise thair hands to heaven and holler,
the crowds screams in anguish, the steel pans play
This is cricket bliss!
