On Sunday October 3rd, Gerald Alleyne, our President, presented the first bursary awards to children of alumni. The awards were given to first year students attending University or Community College.
The recipients were Nicholas Singh and Samantha Rayman. Nick (at left), who is the son of Lionel and Jenny Singh, is attending Seneca College where he is in the Criminology program. His aspirations, after graduating, are to join the police force and attend Police College at Aylmer. |
Samantha (seen at right), daughter of Colin and Hazel Rayman, is attending Mc. Master’s University. She is in the faculty of Health Sciences and is in the 4 year Nursing program. She will eventually enter medical school.
Dr. Percy Anderson, Professor Emeritus, York University and Chair of the Bursary Committee gave an inspirational address, urging the recipients to live up to the lofty traditions of their parents’ alma mater. |
